BLUE BRAIN - Can we think in 11 dimensions ?

Blue Brain Project is an interesting research project in the field of neuro-science conducted in Lausanne, Switzerland. The primary objective was that the virtual brain will help us to understand different aspects of human brain such as perception, memory and perhaps even consciousness.

Neuroscientists working in this project, used algebraic topology to study human brain's neural network and what they found was something astonishing. YES, human brain's structure operates in 11 dimensions.

Algebraic topology is like a telescope and microscope at the same time. It can zoom into the complicated web of billions of neural networks to find the hidden structures and find intricate details.

The Blue Brain Project is a Swiss brain research initiative that aims to create a digital reconstruction of rodent and eventually human brains by reverse-engineering mammalian brain circuitry. The project is headed by the founding director Mr.Henry Markram - who also launched the European Human Brain Project. The Blue Brain Project was launched in May 2005.

By Dec 2008, the first artificial cellular neocortical columns of 10,000 cells were built.  By July 2011, a cellular mesocircuit of 100 neocortical columns of with a million cells in total was built.

These in-depth research, can help us understand how certain malfunctions of the brain's microcircuits could cause psychiatric disorders such as autism, schizophrenia or depression.

But by 2017, real breakthrough happened. The neuro-scientists working on the project found that the neural network inside the human brain was connected to one another in 11 dimensions, and that is precisely why human brain can think and build structures in 11 dimensions as well.

This ambitious project is funded by the Swiss government and the Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) Flagship grant from the European Commission.

What is Intuition?

When human body functions spontaneously, we call it as instinct. When the soul functions spontaneously, that is called intuition. Instinct is of the body - the gross; and intuition is of the soul - the subtle.
When you are totally awake and aware, this shift happens: from the [brain’s] left hemisphere the energy moves to the right hemisphere. The male is naturally an aggressive living being, the male is constantly in struggle – the feminine is constantly in surrender, in deep trust. Hence females have a better intuition or sixth sense.

Scientists have discovered that humans appear to have two, very different “operating systems.” (link is external)  System 1 is our quick, instinctual, and often subconscious way of operating – it is controlled by our right brain and by other parts of our brain that have been around since prehistoric times, known as the “limbic” and reptilian” parts of our brain.  System 2 is our slower, more analytical, and conscious way of operating – it is controlled by our left brain and by newer parts of our brain that have only developed since prehistoric times (also known as the “neocortex”).  Researchers have found that intuition is part of System 1, which is why it comes on so rapidly and often does not make rational sense to us.  In other words, intuitive decisions are not something that we have thought out carefully with reason, but rather choices that have arisen quickly out of instinct.
In my book, THINK LIKE A WINNER, I have briefly touched upon how our human mind can be programmed for success. In my second book, LIVE YOUR DREAMS, I have discussed, how people used their power of mind to achieve their personal and professional goals.

Intuition is challenging to define, despite the huge role it plays in our everyday lives. Steve Jobs called it, for instance, "more powerful than intellect." But however we put it into words, we all, well, intuitively know just what it is.

Pretty much everyone has experienced a gut feeling -- that unconscious reasoning that propels us to do something without telling us why or how. But the nature of intuition has long eluded us, and has inspired centuries' worth of research and inquiry in the fields of philosophy and psychology.

If you want to get in touch with your intuition, a little time alone may be the most effective way. Just as solitude can help give rise to creative thinking, it can also help us connect to our deepest inner wisdom.
Intuitive people are often introverted, according to Burnham. But whether you're an introvert or not, taking time for solitude can help you engage in deeper thought and reconnect with yourself.
"You have to be able to have a little bit of solitude; a little bit of silence," she says. "In the middle of craziness ... you can't recognize [intuition] above all of the noise of everyday life."

Telepathy - A technical possibilty

Article - Sudhir Pai

TELEPATHY.
For many years, people were struggling and researching on ESP (Extra sensory perception) phenomenon.

But thanks to Mark Zuckerberg, ESP has become a technical possibility with FaceBook.

READ MINDS
Just go through last 25 posts of a person and we can easily predict future behaviour. And FB can access anyone's mind.

COLLECTIVE HYPNOTISM
Through mass posting and trending hashtags, social media can actually hypnotize an individual or group.

THOUGHT TRANSFER
FB messenger and tagging can help a person to transfer thought to an individual or group.

As I believe - Let's positively use this technology for upliftment of consciousness and collective evolution, growth and prosperity. And many such technology awaits humanity and we should responsibly use it for collective growth, peace, prosperity and happiness !

Growth Mindset

Article : Sudhir Pai

It is said, universe began 13.82 billion years ago from a small dot which exploded as BIG BANG.

Since then, it is only growing and expanding.

Look around:
Everything from plants, fishes, trees, birds, animals and humans everything has grown from a small seed. Is'nt it?

Growth, abundance and prosperity is a natural instinct. Think Big. Aim Bigger. Don't feel guilty in doing so.

Some people may like your behaviour. Some may criticize you. Some may ignore you. Don't bother too much.

Keep your focus intact on growth and prosperity, and keep working towards it.

Best Wishes,

How to deal with a difficult boss?

Article - Sudhir Pai

Are you one of those, who feel that your boss is very difficult to handle? You do everything in best possible way, work really hard but your boss is never happy and many times shouts at you or insults you in front of other colleagues.

Chill. Take a cup of warm or cold coffee and keep reading below article. We are going to discuss today how to manage and deal with difficult boss?

Let's start.

Observe your boss for a few days with a neutral frame of mind. Regular meditation can help you to develop a cool and neutral mindset. Understand your boss and his or her priorities. Listen to what he or she says very carefully. Try to listen to what is unsaid.

Try to understand that your boss may be a very good person in personal life but targets and deadlines can put huge pressure on him or her and that work pressure can get transferred down on subordinates.

Art of managing boss is more often art of managing the pressure downloaded by the boss. And to manage the pressure, one needs to be in cool frame of mind. Trust me folks, regular deep breathing and meditation helps to develop this cool mind.

Documentation plays an important role in managing boss's expectations. During meetings with our superiors, make a note of everything in bulleted points. After meeting, email minutes of meeting to your boss and colleagues to ensure whole team is on same page. and get assign off from your boss. On regular intervals, send him status of work allotted with deadlines and tasks completed. This will ensure, that boss is updated on regular basis of work status. Also ask for feedback and inputs from boss about the progress of work.

Open and regular communication is the way to develop and strengthen relationship with your boss and colleagues.

I hope this article has helped you to get clarity on How to deal with difficult boss?

Why Tulsi (Holy Basil) is planted at entrance of house?

Article : Sudhir Pai

As a child, I was fascinated with lot of things I observed around me. Some traditions were faith. Some were blind faith. And yet another had some scientific thinking.

I always used to wonder, why Tulsi (Holy Basil) is planted at entrance and worshipped. And I used to ask this question to lot of people and my elders and each one of them had their own version of story as they heard from their elders and friends.

But I was looking for a more scientific explantion until I met an engineer who had more interest in Ayurveda and Indian tradition and I felt his explanation was closest which answered my logical mind.

He first told me benefits of Tulsi plant and leaves which are as follows:

1) Tulsi plant emits oxygen in abundance.
2) Fights cancer.
3) Improves immunity.
4) Fights bacteria and viruses.
5) Useful in cold and cough.

Tulsi leaves can be boiled with tea and milk and drink for healthier life.

You can google and youtube for more information.

Bottom line - Tulsi plant at entrance was a reminder to take (eat tulsi leaves) daily dose of immunity before you go for outdoor work, so that you always remain immune to external harmful viruses and stay healthy.

So, eat tulsi leaves for a good health.

Life of Radhanath Swami

Radhanath Swami (Richard Slavin) was born in comforts of Chicago (USA). As a teenager, he embarked on a fascinating journey of hitch-hiking the world in search of self discovery and spirituality that ultimately led him to join ISKCON (International Society of Krishna Consciousness)

During 1960s and 1970s, there was a general disillusionment amongst European and American youth about society and materialistic pleasure and hippie movement started where unfortunately many young folks got trapped in drugs, rock and roll and sex.

Something similar was happening to Richard Slavin. He was young. He was confused. And he left home, leaving behind his family and comforts of US life and started spiritual journey.

Growing up in Chicago, he was restless and had plenty reason to be unhappy. Civil unrest, Vietnam war and general aversion to trappings of material life.

He wanted to be free. He wanted to experience freedom and liberation.

In his book, The Journey Home, he gives colourful details of his spiritual journey from Chichago suburubs to caves of Himalayas. he gives an intimate account of the steps to self-awareness and also a penetrating glimpse various mystic traditions across the world like Arabia, Rome, Greek and finally he lands into India.

His spiritual journey ends with becoming an ISKCON sanyasi and now heads the organization and run food program for underpriviledged kids by name of Akshay Patra where around 1.6 million school kids are fed with nutritious meals on daily basis.

Hare Krishna !

Develop good memory

By : Sudhir Pai

Everyday our brain has opportunity to develop new cells and newer neural connections and pathways. This ability of our amazing brain to constantly renew itself and become more sharper and intelligent is called as neuroplasticity.

We must be aware and train our brain using this concept of neuroplasticity to improve our memory power as well. So how can we do it?

1) Diet plays an important role. Eat fresh fruits, walnuts, almonds.

2) Drink 1-2 cups of coffee. It helps to keep our mind alert and improve memory.

3) Walk for 45 minutes daily. It should be brisk and and at end of walk we should feel happy and light headed.

4) Affirmations can do wonders. Regularly talk to yourself and tell that you have great memory.

5) Smiling and laughing reduces stress, increases happy hormones called endorphins and thereby improves memory.

6) Solve puzzles.

7) Play Chess and Carrom.

8) Try to recall entire day event at end of day and put it in diary.

So I wish all my readers a happy day ahead and smile your way to a great memory.

To live a holistic happy and successful life I have:

1) 2 books
2) 10 CDs
3) Individual counselling
4) Group seminars

Roger Bannister: The Four Minute Mile

Sir Roger Bannister, is the first person to run 1 mile before 4 minutes. Till 1954, sports psychologists, doctors and atheletes believed that running 1 mile under 4 minutes is physically and psychologically not possible for any human.

And Sir Roger Bannister, decided to challenge this status quo. He decided to challenge this orthodox belief structure. He was determined to break this mental limitation.

He was born in ordinary middle class, but had tremendous passion for running.

When every other athlete in world was working on physical stamina and technique. Roger Bannister started focussing on developing mental and spiritual strength with mind power techniques like affirmations and visualization along with physical strength and stamina.

And on 6th May 1954, Roger did the impossible. He actually ran 1 mile in 3 min 59 seconds at Olympics.

And in next 1 year 25 more athletes could do the same.

Roger Bannister proved to the world that barriers and self limiting beliefs exist only in minds. We need to break them first.

Mind v/s Consciousness

Article : Sudhir Pai

Mind and consciousness are two different sides of the coin.

We can have an Hindu mind. But there is no Hindu Consciousness.
We can have a Jewish mind. But there is no Jewish Consciousness.

Pure consciousness is a No Mind Zone. Pure Silence. Total Bliss.

Meditation is all about moving from Mind to Consciousness. Mind is like a river. Ever flowing. Ever Changing. Consciousness is absolute. A silent witness. Mind is limited by time and consciousness expresses itself in timelessness.

Mind can be explained. Consciousness can only be felt and experienced. Mind is like a fire. If not handled properly, mind kills.

Consciousness heals. It soothes. It is relaxing.

Friedrich Nietzsche has declared that God is dead. God is not dead on the contrary, what has happened is that matter is dead. Matter has been found not to exist at all. This insight into matter brings modern physics very close to mysticism, very close. For the first time the scientist and the mystic are coming very close, almost holding hands.

Eddington, one of the greatest scientists of this age, has said, "We used to think that matter is a thing; now it is no more so. Matter is more like a thought than like a thing."

Existence is energy. Science has discovered that the observed is energy, the object is energy. Down through the ages, at least for five thousand years, it has been known that the other polarity the subject, the observer, consciousness is energy.

What is Love ?

Article - Sudhir Pai

Love is like breathing.

People are frustrated in their love experiences, because they want to hold it tight and actually forget about it's real essence.

When love is external - it is limited.

When love is internal - it is infinite.

When we try to find love outside, it is a temporary experience with high chance of leading to frustration.

Instead of finding love, become an ocean of love. Start loving yourself without judgement. Love every moment. Love every cell in your body.

Love the trees. Love the animals around. Love those rivers. Love those mountains. Love those butterfly.

Love every atom in universe.

This is one of the way to merge with cosmic oneness.

Just ask yourself - Can I become love infinite ?

Satyam Shivam Sundaram ( Truth, Love, Bliss ) is our inherent nature.

So - Don't wait for love.

Become Love.

Expand your consciousness

An individual is not a body. An individual has a body. An individual just IS. There have been many names to describe this phenomena- the human soul, the spirit, consciousness, and the variety of other names attributed throughout the ages. There are several pathways that help us enhance our awareness but one very effective way is through Mindfulness Meditation, which may seem paradoxical as it emphasizes sitting in stillness. But when you look at the effect that meditation has on the brain it too is subtlety in motion. Our brains have been referred to as a system of neuronal pathways exchanging information and energy flow. Mindfulness meditation creates new neuronal tracks in both the prefrontal cortex as well as the mid-insular regions of the brain. This means that as we learn to sit quietly and to meditate we engage billions of brain cells to fire, and when Neurons fire (learn new activities) they wire together. So you can if you meditate and desire change in effect teach an old dog new tricks. Thus the axiom Change Your Mind Change Your Brain gives new meaning to the activity called Mindfulness.

3 Magic Minutes

From Stress to Bliss :

The mind is fickle in nature and so finds it difficult to remain anchored. Usually the mind is never where the body is; it keeps wandering on its own. The fickle mind is constantly influenced by our sensual and passionate desires and the environment. Hence the wandering mind is the cause of our bondage. But when the mind begins to look inward, and is self-conscious, it leads to liberation. A unique yoga kriya has been developed by incorporating three different exercises to make the mann or mind, amann, or a mind that has overcome its fickle nature.

The new kriya, called praan oorja kriya is based on breathing techniques, and saakshibhav, and can be performed at any time of the day for three minutes. With this kriya, the mind becomes serene and inward looking, and feelings of love, vigour, patience, concentration and memory also get a boost. You should do this kriya with your eyes closed.

Power of Prayers

Prayer is our communion with God, whether it be a petition made to God, worship, repentance, praise, or thanksgiving. It doesn't have to be a laid-out patent prayer, but words from the heart. God wants all of us, he knows our minds and hearts, so why not talk to him as if he already knows the situation. Sometimes you hear someone say,"We've done all we can. The only thing we can do now is pray." Prayer really should be our first resort rather than our last resort. The effectual fervent prayer is one with power behind it, one that produces results. We have to believe what we pray, not just 'mouth' words. Sometimes we go blindly into our prayers, not knowing in which direction to go.

Pray .... But Pray with 100% Faith & Belief !!!

Moments of Clarity

Be fully aware . We all have the Buddha mind in us . Every sentient being has it . This mind is always present, always clear, and always perfect The natural expression of the perfect mind is clarity The problem is when this mind is filled with delusions, aggressive and non-virtuous thoughts arising out of the five poisons of pride, ignorance, greed, jealousy and desire If we continue to carry out all our actions with this karmic mind, it often leads to suffering If we try and understand the difference.between the base and the karmic mind, we will be able to clearly see the afflicted mind.

As alcohol enters our blood stream, it brings confusion with it Gradually, as the intoxicant starts affecting us, the clarity of the base mind and the dullness of the karmic mind merge The otherwise black-white starkness gives way to an increasing ‘grey area’ expanse or confusion As more alcohol enters the blood stream, it increases confusion A baffled mind cannot differentiate between virtuous and non-virtuous thoughts, words and actions. Retain your balance. While enjoying your tipple, be.aware of your thoughts.

Healing Mantras

Mantras, or simple chants, are short phrases packed with energy and intention —specifically designed to generate powerful sound waves that promote healing, insight, creativity, and spiritual growth. Healing Mantras is the practical, how-to guide that makes the strengths and benefits of mantras available to everyone. The transformative power of sound has been passed down to the present from the sages of India, the classical scientists of ancient Greece, and the medieval monks of Europe. Even though the science and discipline of chanting and formal prayer are practiced in every religion around the world, this is the first time that ancient Sanskrit mantras have been explained and adapted to Western needs.
